The Huntsville Community
Huntsville, a high-tech city nestled in the Tennessee Valley region of
northern Alabama, offers the best in community life, with all the attractions
of the city. Boasting one of the strongest economies in the South,
Huntsville/Madison County is for many an ideal place to work and raise a
family. Leading industries in the area include aerospace, defense,
electronics, research and technology, and manufacturing.
Nearly 350,000 residents call the Huntsville metro area home. “America’s Space
Capital” has much to offer. Visitors from around the world flock to the U.S.
Space and Rocket Center, Alabama’s #1 tourist attraction, where they find an
extensive collection of rockets and space memorabilia, educational IMAX films,
exciting rides, and more.
The beautiful Huntsville Botanical Garden features floral collections, the
Butterfly House, a gift shop, picnic area, and more. The Sci-Quest science
center and Early Works history museum both offer kids a hands-on approach to
learning. And the Huntsville Museum of Art houses seven galleries, hosting
decorative art pieces and touring exhibitions.
For those who are sports fans, three professional sports teams play in
Huntsville: the Huntsville Stars Baseball Club (AA affiliate of the Milwaukee
Brewers); the Tennessee Valley Vipers (Arena League 2 football); and the
Huntsville Flight (NDBL basketball). Golfers will enjoy Hampton Cove, an
excellent public golf facility of the state of Alabama’s Robert Trent Jones
Golf Trail.
The Huntsville area remains one of the fastest growing regions in the South.
Once a predominantly farming-centered community, Huntsville has developed into
a center of technology, the “Silicon Valley of the Southeast.” Embracing its
past, and continuing to grow into its future, Huntsville has much to offer.
